This Privacy Policy explains how Eden ("Eden," "we," "us," or "our") — a product of Iron & Oak, a registered trade name of Lion and Lamb LLC — collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Eden mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using Eden, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to provide and improve Eden:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name (or display name) and email address, and authentication information needed to sign you in.
- Information you provide in the app. This includes the content you create or enter — such as meal plans, recipes, food and nutrition entries, family or household details, preferences, and anything you share with Eden's in-app features.
- Messages to Eden. If you interact with Eden's chat or assistant features, we process the messages you send to provide responses and improve the experience.
- Subscription & purchase information. If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by the applicable app store or our payment processor. We receive confirmation of your purchase and subscription status, but we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
- Device & usage information. We may collect basic technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, and general usage and diagnostic data to keep the app working reliably.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve Eden and its features.
- To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
- To personalize your experience — for example, tailoring meal and nutrition suggestions to the information you provide.
- To process subscriptions and manage your access to paid features.
- To respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
- To protect the security and integrity of the Service and to comply with legal obligations.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We use trusted third-party providers to operate Eden — for example, cloud hosting and storage, payment processing, communications/messaging, and AI processing for in-app assistant features. These providers process information only as needed to perform services for us.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
Third-party services
Eden relies on third-party services to function, which may process limited information on our behalf, including cloud infrastructure and storage, a payment processor for subscriptions, a communications provider for messaging or notifications, and AI service providers that power Eden's assistant features. Each operates under its own terms and privacy practices.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Your choices and rights
- Access and update. You can view and update much of your information directly in the app.
- Account & data deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing us at support@ironandoak.dev from your account email address.
- Subscriptions. You can manage or cancel app store subscriptions through your app store account settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information; contact us to exercise them.
Children's privacy
Eden is intended for use by adults (parents and caregivers). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice within the app. Your continued use of Eden after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
